This powerful combination of experience and skill sets is aptly suited to execute the Partnership’s operationally active private equity strategy. The below individuals will serve as the members of the Fund II investment committee.



Robert J. Castillo, CFA, CPA,
Managing Director

Robert Castillo is the founder and Managing Director of Invision Capital. Mr. Castillo brings over 18 years of business and investing experience to the Partnership. In addition to his private equity experience, Mr. Castillo has served in various operating capacities as well as acting as a financial advisor to lower middle market companies. Mr. Castillo has worked with middle market companies representing over $1.5 billion in transaction value.

Prior to founding Invision, Mr. Castillo was a partner at Valor Equity Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm. Mr. Castillo has also held positions with American Capital Strategies and FINOVA Capital. At FINOVA, Mr. Castillo was a member of the Corporate Finance Group’s investment committee and directly responsible for equity investments in direct, co-investment and fund investment transactions. Mr. Castillo has held various underwriting positions within FINOVA Capital and Heller Financial. Mr. Castillo began his career at KPMG Peat Marwick performing valuations and attestations of financial service clients including venture capital and buyout funds.

Mr. Castillo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Illinois State University. Mr. Castillo is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder.


Dustin D. Stitgen,

Mr. Stitgen brings 8 years of deep analytics, financial modeling and transaction management experience to the Partnership. Mr. Stitgen joined Invision Capital in 2011. Mr. Stitgen is responsible for leading deals from term sheet through close and is involved in every aspect of the transaction including structuring, financial modeling, due diligence, legal, and senior debt financing. Additionally, Mr. Stitgen is responsible for monitoring the operational activities of the portfolio, which includes daily operating metrics, weekly dashboards, monthly financial statements and quarterly compliance certificates and board meetings.Prior to joining Invision, Mr. Stitgen was an Associate for Discovery Equity Partners, a $300 million Chicago-based hedge fund. He was responsible for making investment recommendations, preparing presentations to highlight the attractiveness of a business as a takeover target and its fair change-of-control valuation, and meeting with CEOs and CFOs to conduct initial company and industry due diligence. Mr. Stitgen was responsible for creating comprehensive financial models and valuation analyses for various transactions such as leveraged buyouts, discounted cash flow, earnings accretion / dilution, comparable public companies and comparable M&A transactions. Prior to Discovery Equity Partners, Mr. Stitgen was a Financial Analyst for Thompson Investment Management, an $800 million investment advisory firm during his college term.

Mr. Stitgen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Investment, and Banking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


Matthew E. Steffen, CPA,

Mr. Steffen brings over 25 years of broad based finance experience to the Partnership. Mr. Steffen joined Invision Capital in 2014 and is responsible for performing extensive due diligence in connection with numerous strategic acquisitions, organizational integrations, divestures, and efficiency initiatives. In addition, Mr. Steffen establishes effective financial reporting and budgeting systems, creates strong internal control environments, and implements performance measurements that ensure high levels of performance for the fund.Prior to joining Invision, Mr. Steffen was a Senior Manager for Ernst & Young LLP. In his role, he was responsible providing financial advisory services to a variety of companies typically in a transactional environment such as a restructuring, refinancing, acquisition, or disposition. Prior to Ernst & Young, Mr. Steffen was a Vice President at Heller Financial, Inc. and GE Capital, during which time he was responsible for asset based and cash flow loan underwritings, portfolio management, analyzing industry trends and preparing financial models to determine cash flow needs and collateral position. Mr. Castillo and Mr. Steffen’s business relationship began 23 years ago, at KPMG Peat Marwick.

Mr. Steffen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Illinois State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.


Thomas P. Harrison, MBA,

Mr. Harrison has spent his 30-year career providing capital to the lower middle market. Prior to being an initial partner in Fund I, Mr. Harrison co-founded and managed Diamond Creek Capital, a commercial finance company specializing in providing creative financing solutions to underserved, lower-middle market businesses. Prior to Diamond Creek, Mr. Harrison was a Managing Director with Roth Capital Partners (“RCP”) where he co-managed RCP’s Debt Capital Markets / Private Placements Group. Prior to joining RCP, Mr. Harrison spent four years as a Senior Vice President specializing in loan originations with Wells Fargo Capital Finance, a leading commercial finance company with over $20 billion in loan commitments. Mr. Harrison also was a co-founder, along with Mr. Castillo, of the private equity division of FINOVA Capital’s Corporate Finance Equity Group, investing in private equity fund investments, direct equity investments and co-investments. During his career, Mr. Harrison has personally negotiated and closed over 250 leveraged transactions aggregating in excess of $3 billion in enterprise value.Mr. Harrison has been a frequent guest speaker and panel member at several industry conferences including the Association for Corporate Growth’s Annual Middle Market Conference – Mergers, Acquisitions, and Finance, the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) Annual Investment Capital Conference, as well as the American Electronics Association (AEA) Regional Conference.

Mr. Harrison received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and his MBA from Pepperdine University.


William P. Johnstone II, MBA,
Senior Associate

Mr. Johnstone brings over 10 years of operational finance and business analysis experience with lower middle market companies. He joined Invision Capital in 2008. As a Senior Associate at Invision Capital, Mr. Johnstone is responsible for performing extensive due diligence, underwriting transactions, and systematizing the firm’s processes and reporting packages. In addition, Mr. Johnstone is responsible for monitoring the operational activities of the portfolio, which includes daily operating metrics, weekly dashboards, monthly financial statements and quarterly covenant compliance certificates.Prior to joining Invision, Mr. Johnstone spent several years working directly for Mr. Castillo as a business analyst at Premier Card Solutions, LLC (“PCS”), a Valor Equity Management, LLC, portfolio company. Mr. Johnstone’s experience included various operational responsibilities ranging from assisting with facility closures, system builds and deep analytical assessments from both an operational and financial basis. Mr. Johnstone spent significant time building and implementing various metrics and models that were utilized to provide senior management with clear and concise information.

Mr. Johnstone received a Bachelor of Arts and a MBA in Financial Management from the University of New Mexico.


Jonathan G. Blanks,

Mr. Blanks is responsible for underwriting transactions and performing due diligence on growth and buyout investments. Prior to Invision Capital, Mr. Blanks worked as a senior analyst with Ernst & Young M&A business modeling group where he constructed acquisition models, due diligence, descriptive and predictive analytics for both sell-side and buy-side private equity transactions for an aggregated $15B in activity.

Mr. Blanks earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with High Honors.



Andrew D. Munger, CPA,

Mr. Munger is responsible for underwriting transactions and performing due diligence on growth and buyout investments. Prior to joining Invision Capital, Mr. Munger worked in the Industrials Investment Banking practice at Duff & Phelps where he worked on a variety of mergers and acquisitions advisory, debt advisory and ESOP advisory transactions for both private and public companies as well as private equity clients.

Mr. Munger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a minor in Technology and Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a Certified Public Accountant.
